Tonbridge Poppys 2017

The community really has pulled together this year for the Poppy Appeal. Locals lovingly handmade hundreds of knitted Poppies, which some have been put on the big bridge in the heart of Tonbridge to decorate the town in this remembrance time.

I was one of the helpers who took time out and helped attach them and I'm so glad I did. The next day Tonbridge castle held the unveiling of the women in war statues in the grounds. There were lots of photographers and press and lots of the local community. It was a very good day as we saw the statues that Hill view school made and wow...... didn't they do well, with the support of Guy Portelli. There was even a carpet of poppys that were knitted by the public and brought together by the 2520 Tonbridge Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

none of this would of been possible if it wasn't for the volunteers,Pam Mills, Carl Lewis and many many more.

WELL DONE TO EVERYONE INVOLVED AND WELL DONE TONBRIDGE.
